I recently listened to the commissioners of the SEC, ACC, Big Ten, and Big 12. They said, “This is bigger than contracts. We’re talking about fairness, structure, and the survival of sports as we know it.”

Yes, they were focused on college sports — but what does this mean for your 7- or 8-year-old who already has a vision and plan for college? Colleges are being forced to limit rosters. That means fewer scholarships, more cuts, and talented athletes stuck on the sidelines. Without legal protection, academic readiness, and strategic planning, too many young athletes’ dreams will never leave the gate.
